What does aerospace logistics require from a 3PL?

Traceability and control. Every component needs a defensible record of where it came from, where it was stored and who handled it. Lateral Fulfillment maintains lot-level and chain-of-custody records through its warehouse management system, with documented SOPs and secure storage zones inside a 440,000 sq ft Class-A facility.

Does Lateral Fulfillment hold aerospace certifications?

No. Lateral Fulfillment provides compliance-ready handling — documented SOPs, lot-level traceability, chain-of-custody records and controlled storage — but does not hold sector certifications on a client’s behalf. The facility operates under IMMEX with CIVA and OEA certifications, which govern customs and inventory control.

Secure, controlled storage

High-value zones with perimeter fencing, on-site security and full fire protection.

Documented SOPs

Handling procedures written per program and followed on the floor, not improvised per shipment.

Kitting and sub-assembly

Component sets built and staged to a production schedule, on the same floor.

Duty-deferred inventory

Components held under IMMEX with Mexican duties deferred until goods are sold or exported.

Cross-border movement

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does Lateral Fulfillment hold aerospace certifications?

No. Lateral Fulfillment does not hold sector certifications and does not claim them. What it provides is capability-based handling: documented SOPs, lot-level traceability, chain-of-custody records and controlled storage. The facility itself operates under IMMEX with CIVA and OEA.

How is traceability maintained for aerospace components?

Each unit is recorded at receipt and every movement is logged through the warehouse management system until dispatch, producing a chain-of-custody record that can be audited per component.

What security does the facility provide?

Perimeter fencing, on-site security and a full fire protection system, with high-value and high-security zones available inside the 440,000 sq ft Class-A facility.

Can Lateral Fulfillment perform kitting and sub-assembly?

Yes. Component sets are built, sequenced and staged to a production schedule under documented SOPs, on the same floor as storage and distribution.

How does IMMEX apply to aerospace inventory?

Components imported into Mexico are held with Mexican duties deferred until goods are sold or exported. U.S. import duties still apply when goods enter the United States; deferral applies to the Mexican side only.

How quickly do components reach U.S. destinations?

Daily linehaul crosses at Otay Mesa, six miles north, into U.S. carrier and freight networks at San Diego — days rather than the weeks of trans-Pacific lead times.

Is temperature-controlled storage available?

No. Storage is ambient only. Programs that require refrigerated, frozen or climate-controlled conditions are not a fit, and Lateral Fulfillment says so during quoting.

How long does an aerospace program take to go live?

Most programs are live within six weeks of contract signature. Complex programs with EDI or sequencing requirements can take longer, and a named contact is assigned at kickoff.
