What does hi-tech logistics require?

Technology goods are high-value, serialized and often configured before shipment. Lateral Fulfillment captures serials at receipt, stores units in secure zones inside a Class-A facility, and performs light assembly and configuration on the same floor — with inventory audited at 99.9% accuracy.

Why does the corridor suit technology programs?

Finished goods held six miles from the U.S. border reach most U.S. destinations in one to three days, while duties stay deferred under IMMEX until goods are sold or exported. Value-added work runs at Tijuana labour rates, lowering cost by up to 30% versus a comparable U.S. operation.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What does a hi-tech logistics program cover?

Receiving and serialized storage of finished technology goods, secure high-value zones, light assembly and configuration, distribution into U.S. networks, and returns or repair flows — from one 440,000 sq ft Class-A facility.

Are serial numbers captured?

Yes. Serials are recorded at receipt and again at dispatch through the warehouse management system, so each unit can be traced through the operation and matched to an outbound order.

What security is available for high-value goods?

Secure storage zones inside a facility with perimeter fencing, on-site security and a full fire protection system. Zones are assigned per program during onboarding.

Can configuration or bundling be done before shipment?

Yes. Light assembly, accessory kitting and configuration run on the same floor as storage, under documented SOPs, so units ship ready rather than being handled twice.

How fast do technology goods reach U.S. customers?

Most U.S. destinations are reached in one to three days. Goods cross daily at Otay Mesa and inject into U.S. carrier networks at San Diego, six miles north.

How does duty deferral work for finished goods?

Goods held under IMMEX have Mexican duties deferred until they are sold or exported. U.S. import duties still apply when goods enter the United States; deferral applies to the Mexican side only.

Are repairs and returns supported?

Yes. Inspection, diagnosis, repair, re-testing and refurbishment run inside the facility under documented SOPs, with unrecoverable units dispositioned against an audit trail.

How long does onboarding take?

Most programs are live within six weeks of contract signature, with a named contact assigned at kickoff and integration running in parallel with inventory transfer.
